your doc is right,i had a 3inch big tumor and it was not on the pet scan.The reason is that on that scan you take a liquid in your blood,the tumor takes it if it is a fast growing cancer and then it appears.
But by doing that scan you can find if there is a metastasis or not.My doc told me that in that case there can grow a different type of tumor,which might be shown on that scan.And pet scan can show even a 1/4 inch tumor,what mri cant do..
Sorry for asking but there is nowhere else of getting such answers,even doctors arent experienced enough.
How do you take nexavar?I take one pill every 8 h.
Can you tell me more things about your case,how big was your tumor?where exactly and what did you do?
To make you feel better before scans,i had cancer in the portal vein,which is very dangerous for a metastasis,since it can travel in the blood and now 14 months later altough im transplanted and i take pills which depress my immunsystem,i am still clear.
